Music Gear Expo

Returning for its third year as the exhibition for musicians and enthusiasts, The Music Gear Expo is a cornucopia of guitars, keyboards, amps, effects pedals, drums, mics, DJ equipment, mixing software, music education and more. Come try out the newest, coolest, cutting edge instruments, register for giveaways, meet the gear pros.

The Expo is open to all SXSW showcasing bands, registrants from the SXSW Music, Film and Interactive conferences and also the general public.

NEW FOR 2012 - Strait Music will be on hand operating the Music Gear Expo Store, where bands will now have a central spot to buy last-minute accessories like drum sticks, drum heads, cables and a range of instruments too. Need a quick guitar restringing or other instrument repair? The Strait Music pros will have technicians on site for repairs too!

The Music Gear Expo Lounge presented by Klipsch is a great place to unwind away from the Gear Expo main floor. Comfortable furnishings provide a spot to relax and wi-fi makes sure you are still connected. Meet other gear enthusiasts and pros in a casual space. The Music Gear Expo Lounge will also host a daily happy hour, presented by Klipsch, from 4:00 - 5:00PM.

SXSW will be offering an exciting array of classes on music production, DJing, sound design, synthesis, mixing and mastering workshops and demos at the SXSW Gear Expo Classroom in Meeting Room 2 at the Austin Convention Center.
